Events diary:

The calender below shows forthcoming society events and other events related to mining history that may be of interest.  You can click on individual days/events on the calender to retrieve further details.  If you are the organiser or promoter of a (not-for-profit) event that you would like listed here, please send details through to the webmaster - details are on the contact us page.

Some events, such as underground meets or surface walks, can be liable to last-minute changes due to weather conditions, or the ability to gain permission for access/parking/etc.  Where possible we try to keep this diary up-to-date, so it is worth double-checking meet details here prior to setting out!

Mining Heritage Walk - Barmote Court Walk, Monyash

Leader: Adam Russell

Meet at the cross in the centre of Monyash at 10.30am. The adjacent Smithy Cafe will be open from 9.30 for anyone wanting a good breakfast before setting out.

To mark the date of the Autumn High Peak Barmote Court, this 6-mile walk will visit a number of sites in the Monyash area with a general theme of mining law and disputes. Afterwards, there will be the option to visit the Bulls Head Inn, the traditional venue for the High Peak Court, and - in keeping with tradition - "partake of ale".
Bring a packed lunch.
